Forget Me Not: A Dark Romance Kindle Edition
A dark romance standalone by author Rachel Leigh with an obsessive anti-hero, and a heroine who fights as hard as she falls.
It should have been a harmless swindle.
A survival tactic, plain and simple.
Because I, Rhea Thorn, am a survivor.
At least, I thought I was…
Until I conned a psycho.
After a meaningless one night stand, I emptied his wallet and fled before the morning sun.
By that night, I had seventeen missed calls, and a broken window with a note:
You can keep what you stole, but I get you in return.
Everywhere I go, he’s there—blurring the vision between right and wrong, while enticing me with his sultry blue eyes.
Alaric promised me I’d never forget him.
And I’m beginning to fear he’s right.
Forget Me Not is a dark romance with content that may be triggering to some readers. Please be sure to read the warnings in the front of the book.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2023Holy…… I have never laughed at an MMC so hard for him being such a crazy psycho and also rooting for him the whole time. Rhea had a hard life growing up, always on the run and using what she had to get by. But she has noticed recently that there is a black car following her, partly comforting having someone watch over but also knowing it could be her worst nightmare coming to collect her. When she decided to settle in a tiny town, she figured her shadow would never find her or follow her. Until a dark, handsome, older man comes barging into town with his eyes set on only her. The way he watches her like she is the answer to all his desires, she decides it might be time to ditch him at any cost. But Alaric has a much different plan for her, short plan = protect her at any cost. Long plan = make her every dream come true. If only he could hold on a little longer to not spook the Wildcat and cause her to run again.
These two have such an interesting start to their story. The things they have working against them and the feelings they must work through are only the beginning of their hurdles. Not to mention the sassy of Rhea mixed with the obsessive and demanding behavior of Alaric make for some of the funniest interactions I have read in a long time!!!!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2025Looking for a strong FMC then you need to read this book. The FMC is all about looking after herself…until she sees MMC for the first time. Keep reading for the twist this book has in store.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2024This book has been on my tbr, I think, since it was released. It sounded interesting and had aspects of books I look for. Unfortunately life and other things kept pushing this down.
I finally got to read it. I was immediately enthralled and pulled in. I have only read two other books by Rachel and they were co writes. This was my introduction to Rachel's writing. She is so incredibly talented. She is able to build this world while also having fully developed characters, with a good plot. This had twists and turns I didn't see coming.
I loved Alaric and his "stalker" tendencies. I loved seeing how he helped people, sometimes just to annoy Rhea. There were times of vulnerability and I think that helped make this character such a strong main lead.
Rhea was a strong and determined character. She made plans and followed through when she could. She is a survivor and believes that the past is just that. She looks forward to a specific future and her actions are all moving towards it. She feels like Alaric is a giant wrench in her plans.
These two characters were so good together. He falls first, hence the stalking. Rhea is determined to avoid romantic relationships past one night.
There were some dark moments and a few things were hard to read so make sure you read warnings.
I really enjoyed this and will be looking at my tbr for any other Rachel Leigh books. I am now a big fan and would absolutely recommend this book
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2023I loved Rhea from the beginning! She is tough because it's all she's known. She does what she needs to survive and is constantly on the move. I love that she isn't a traditional fmc when it comes to her upbringing/education. Alaric is obsessive and possessive and will stop at nothing to have Rhea. He has inserted himself in every aspect of her.
I was excited for this standalone as it wouldn't end on a crazy cliffhanger, but I want more of Rhea and Alaric! Their chemistry is off the charts, even if it takes a bit for Rhea to get on board with Alaric. There are some twists to the book that I did not see coming at all. I feel like by the end Rhea gets everything she deserves in life. I hope we get to see more of these two in the future!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2023So this is one of these reviews that I hate to write. This is honestly more like a 3.5 star rating because I struggled so hard with this book. I really couldn't connect with the Alaric. He was A LOT. Rhea was a great character. She was raised on the street and did a lot of things she wasn't proud of. Her mom taught her how work rich people.
She's older now and still struggling where to fit in. She finding herself in this little town. She's got a place to stay, friends and a job. There's one problem though, she's not exactly feeling comfortable yet. She gets the feeling someone is following and watching her every move. She has a lot of street smarts, which helps when it comes to dealing with Alaric. She stands her ground with him but I failed to have that moment where the characters figure out they love each other and fall madly in love. I love that moment and I just didn't feel it in this book.
The book is well written and has a good plot with great story. My one big issue and if this is a spoiler then I'm sorry but I was not aware of the use of "Daddy" during sexy times. It made me cringe so hard and if it wasn't for being the last 20% of the book, I would have stopped the book immediately. There's a age gap of 21 years. He was her dad's best friend and tried to protect from all the evil in the world.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2023My heart goes out to Rhea and the life she endured with her mom. Though I can say she never had a full moment but to constantly be on the run and changing names. I love how the story and title fit with one another it’s so bittersweet. Alaric how I would love to meet a man like him totally devoted but without the massive stalker lol. The age gap made him the perfect “daddy”.When these two get together it’s fireworks and I loved it. The spice was oh so good and the twist in the story I was shocked. This was a fabulous story and it got me in all the right ways.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved them!
“ It’s become evident over the weeks of tracking her—and finding her—that my girl wasn’t born to be caged, and I have no intention of trying to tame her. “
Oh I love myself a dark romance and add in a boy obsessed with a side for forbidden and I’m eating it up and asking for more. Alaric is the definition of possessive, morally grey intentions with all the daddy energy as he sets his sites on Rhea and decided he will stop at nothing until she is his.
“ My girl stands on a pedestal; I know the people in this town don’t hold a candle to her worth. “
Rhea has lived a life that isn’t her own. All she has ever known is how to attract men, con them and disappear without a trace. I would say that she made a mistake by targeting Alaric but she really had no choice since he set his sights on her first. Rhea doesn’t realize that there are other outside sources trying to track her and Alaric has the power to keep her safe.
“ Don’t you know by now, baby? I’m always following you.”
Oh this man is such a stalker but I couldn’t help but love him. He made his intentions clear from the beginning and he knows that he is the only one capable of caring for and loving Rhea the way she needs. It does take him a while because she makes him work for it.
I loved watching the push and pull between these characters while they fight for control in their relationship. Rhea was the perfect FMC for him, her story is heart breaking but it explains how she handles certain things and what her basic instinct leads her to

4.0 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was fairly slow burn but wrapped you in an intriguing background for the heroine. I usually like the dark psycho types, but Alaric was at times rather unlikable. Some great twists at the end of this along with some great side characters make for a good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars good book
Book was good and kept me interested all the way to the end. Didn’t really like Alaric at the start he was too brash and demanding with little really showing he was genuine. But I was a fan by the end of the book. Didn’t like the no kids rule tho considering rheas past and alarics. Felt like she should have been able to be a mum after everything she went through. Overall book was okay but didn’t like the kids bit so that’s why 4 stars

4.0 out of 5 stars Forget Me Not
This is a stalker dark romance with a possessive alpha stalker man. Alaric has been watching Rhea from afar for a few years until he decided to finally let her know who he is. This was an easy to read book and I enjoyed watching Rhea let her guard down to accept Alaric into her life.

2.0 out of 5 stars what just happened?
This book was all over the place. It truly starts out like a dark romance, stalker, age gap, runaway….all the good stuff. Includes some CNC and oh also dad’s best friend. I feel like the author tried to take all the typical tropes and include them. But then at about the 80% mark there is this drastic change. What used to be a badass FMC who was fiercely independent and took nothing from no one was suddenly completely in love, soft spoken and attached to her “stalker”. What used to be a morally charcoal MMC stalker turned into this soft, sweet man! I mean he paid off 6 figures worth of debt for a girl who sold out the FMC to the man trying to force her to marry him! And sure you don’t see the twist coming….but that’s because the twist is so out of pocket and completely unnecessary and random! The amount of detail that gets put into her backstory is huge and yet the ending happens so fast! Also you expect me to believe that a morally almost black man is going to let other people lead the charge to get her back while he sits in the car? This had so much potential but wasn’t the one for me.
